I love taking my quilts out for a photo session. It always leads to meeting people who share their stories with me about the quilts in their lives. Maybe it’s a grandmother, or a good friend…but they all know someone who took two pieces of fabric, bound them together and made a quilt.

This elevator still works and gets you from the bluff up above to the city below.

My father’s quilt. He loved coming to visit me in the Pacific Northwest. Only fitting to hang it on the dock next to his favorite restaurant.

Sometime I like to get back to the roots of my quilting journey. The Ohio Star is one of my favorites.

It’s an unwritten rule…If I give you a quilt, a portrait in the quilt is a must. My husband and goddaughter in their matching quilts at beautiful Point Defiance Park. 2011

A garden structure and a pup peeping around the corner in a good friend’s garden. 2021

Hard to believe there was a time when I did not care for the color orange. This is one of my favorite trees in a nearby park.

A traditional Amish Diamond in the Square. This was a true labor of love for my husband. He chose the colors and would always check on my hand quilting progress. He enjoyed the making as much as I did. Hard to believe this quilt is over 40 years old.

Scraps are really just a palette full of colorful paint.

At the heart of it all quilting has always been about love. A blanket to wrap around those I love, to hold them close as I needle in and needle out.

Peace…
